Development of envelope-tracking RF pallet (ETX104).

AEL Technology staff worked on a project with NewEdge Signal Solutions LLC (Shirley, MA, USA), for the development and commissioning of an envelope tracking (ET) modulated RF pallet for use in a new product application.

The ETX104 is a complete ET modulator and RF PA pallet, operating over a wide RF bandwidth with high overall efficiency:

The outcome of this work is that NewEdge went into low-volume modulator production for their first customer, and the baseline modulator is being used to develop new business in various different markets.

AEL Technology is still providing support to NewEdge for their European customers, modulator documentation, etc.

Development of tunable filter test controller.

AEL Technology staff worked on a small project for the development of a test controller for the NewEdge SAX103 tunable filter.
This unit was needed in time for an upcoming show to help with product demos and sales.

This is a unit that connects to a PC USB port and translates control messages into 8-bit parallel control words to set the operating frequency of the tunable filter.

This involved the following work:

The outcome of this work was that NewEdge were able to demonstrate the SAX103 filter at exhibitions to promote sales.

Development of envelope-tracking RF pallet (ETX107).

AEL Technology staff worked on a project to develop an envelope tracking (ET) modulated RF pallet (ETX107).

The ETX107 is another complete ET modulator and RF PA pallet, operating over a wide RF bandwidth with high overall efficiency and building on earlier ET module developments:

Development of dual-PA envelope-tracking RF pallet (ETX110).

AEL Technology staff worked on a project to develop an envelope tracking (ET) modulated RF pallet incorporating a dual PA (ETX110).

The ETX110 was a dual-PA version designed to generate higher RF powers, operating over a wide RF bandwidth with high overall efficiency and again building on earlier ET module developments:

Development of vehicle-mounted baseband processing and dual envelope-tracking RF pallet system (ETX122/ETX123).

AEL Technology staff are currently working on a project for the development and commissioning of a vehicle-mounted radio unit incorporating baseband processing in addition to dual envelope tracking (ET) modulated RF PA pallets.

The ETX122 is the baseband processor board which hosts two ETX123 ETPA modules.
This system operates over a wide RF bandwidth with high overall efficiency for multi-mode communications, and the ETX122 incorporates a Zynq FPGA, two RF baseband processors and numerous DCDC PSUs:

Each ETX123 module incorporates a custom multi-channel SMPS controller ASIC, a custom baseband envelope processor ASIC, and the envelope-tracking RF PA chain:

Development of new RF tunable filter (SAX275).

AEL Technology staff worked on a small project for the development of a new RF tunable filter; SAX275.
This is a wideband electronically-tunable UHF RF filter incorporating a micro and digital control port.
